Terms of Service

Last updated: May 2026

1. About DropSet

DropSet is a music system for class-based fitness studios operated by DropSet Ltd ("DropSet", "we", "us"). These Terms govern your use of the DropSet service, including the hardware, software, member portal, and owner portal (collectively, the "Service").

By using the Service, you agree to these Terms. If you are using the Service on behalf of a business, that business accepts these Terms.

2. Service description

DropSet provides gym owners with a hardware device (the "Box"), a software platform, and access to a licensed music catalogue. The Box connects to your existing sound system and plays curated or subscriber-owned music, adapted to room conditions.

Members of subscribing gyms may access a read-only portal to see what is currently playing in their gym room. No account registration is required for members.

3. Subscriptions and billing

Subscriptions are priced per room per month. The applicable price and plan are confirmed at sign-up. Prices are displayed in GBP and are exclusive of any applicable taxes unless stated otherwise.

Hardware is included with a 12-month subscription commitment or available to purchase outright. All subscription terms are confirmed in your order documentation.

If a payment fails, you will receive a 7-day grace period of full playback. After that, all rooms on the account will be silenced until payment is restored. Resubscribing restores access immediately.

You may cancel your subscription at any time. No refunds are issued for partial billing periods unless required by law.

4. Music licences

On the Drop and Headliner plans, the music catalogue licence for B2B/commercial use is included in your subscription fee. You remain responsible for paying any applicable public performance licences required in your jurisdiction (for example, PPL PRS in the United Kingdom).

On the Solo plan, music is sourced from your own Spotify Premium account and plays on a single DropSet box at a time. A single Spotify Premium account cannot stream to multiple boxes simultaneously. Licensing obligations for that content rest with you and Spotify under their respective terms.

5. Acceptable use

You agree not to:

  • Tamper with, reverse-engineer, or attempt to circumvent the Box hardware or software.
  • Use the Service in any way that violates applicable law.
  • Resell or sublicence access to the Service without written consent from DropSet.
  • Interfere with the operation of the Service for other customers.

6. Privacy and data

The Box uses an AI camera to monitor aggregate room conditions (energy level, floor density, class phase). All inference runs locally on the Box. Raw video frames are processed in RAM and discarded immediately — no video is stored, transmitted, or retained.

The Box does not perform facial recognition, does not identify individual members, and does not recognise repeat visitors.

Owner portal accounts are authenticated via one-time email links. We store the email address associated with your account and basic usage data (billing, box status, play history). We do not sell personal data to third parties.

For full details, see the Privacy posture section of our How it works page.

7. Intellectual property

All software, designs, and content produced by DropSet remain the property of DropSet Ltd. You are granted a non-exclusive, non-transferable licence to use the Service during your subscription term.

8. Limitation of liability

To the extent permitted by law, DropSet's liability for any claim arising from these Terms is limited to the fees paid by you in the 12 months preceding the claim. DropSet is not liable for indirect, consequential, or incidental losses.

Nothing in these Terms limits liability for fraud, death or personal injury caused by negligence, or any other liability that cannot be excluded by law.

9. Changes to these Terms

We may update these Terms from time to time. We will notify registered owners by email at least 14 days before material changes take effect. Continued use of the Service after that date constitutes acceptance of the updated Terms.

10. Governing law

These Terms are governed by the laws of England and Wales. Any disputes shall be subject to the exclusive jurisdiction of the courts of England and Wales.
